Canada-bound for partypoker and WPT
Excitement is building for next month’s partypoker WPT Montreal event. The Playground Poker Fall Classic festival runs from October 30 –November 17 with the WPT Montreal $3,850 Main Event starting November 11 with a $2 million guarantee. Other events on the schedule include a $200 Seniors Event, $300 PL 5-card Omaha re-entry, Deepstack Turbos and $10k High Roller. MainEventTravel has a ton of great hotels in the Quebec capital.

American Jared Mahoney won last year’s Main for C$ 453,122, way the biggest cash of his live poker career. He beat a 697-entry field, including Darryl Fish heads-up, to seize the trophy and WPT champion’s title. German pro Rainer Kempe, who has been making waves on the European Poker Tour, finished third for C$195,940. Others who cashed included Brian Altman (4th), Carter Swidler (5th), Anthony Zinno, Jeff Madsen, Marc-Etienne McLaughlin, Freddy Deeb, Liv Boeree and Mike McDonald.
